Oakville, MO Homes and Real Estate
Oakville is the southernmost community in South St. Louis County, an unincorporated area of about 17.7 square miles where the Mississippi and Meramec rivers meet. It has close to 14,700 homes (2020 Census) and shares one ZIP code, 63129.
Overview
Homes, roads and parks in Oakville.
Housing is mostly single-family on larger lots than closer-in South County: brick and frame ranches, split-levels and two-story homes, with newer subdivisions on the south and west sides and villa and condo communities mixed in. Wooded lots, river bluff terrain and creek-side streets mean a wide range in lot size and topography, so comps need to match on lot and setting, not only square footage.
Telegraph Road is the main commercial corridor, with shopping and dining clustered along it. Lemay Ferry Road and Meramec Bottom Road connect to I-55 and I-255, which lead to downtown St. Louis, Lambert Airport via I-270, and across the Jefferson Barracks Bridge into Illinois.
Oakville has some of the largest parks in the county. Cliff Cave County Park, east of Telegraph, has the River Bluff Trail loop and overlooks on the Mississippi. Bee Tree County Park, about 192 acres on the river, has a fishing lake, the Lake Loop trail and the 1929 Nims Mansion. Suson Park is just north, and the St. Louis County Library Cliff Cave Branch serves the area.

Buying
Buying in Oakville
Lot, slope and drainage matter here. Ask for any flood zone determination, sump and grading history, and survey on wooded or creek-side lots. Septic or private systems are uncommon but worth confirming on larger parcels. Line up a pre-approval and an inspector familiar with older ranch foundations before you write.
