Homes, roads and parks in Affton.

The housing is mostly single-family on compact, tree-lined streets: brick bungalows and Cape Cods, post-war brick ranches and some split-levels, with duplexes and small apartment buildings near the main roads. Many homes have full basements and detached garages, and updates vary widely from block to block, so condition drives price as much as size.

Gravois Road (Route 30) is the main corridor, with Mackenzie Road, Heege Road and Weber Road running through the neighborhoods. I-55 and I-44 are each a short drive away, which makes downtown St. Louis and Clayton easy commutes.

Grant's Trail, the paved Gravois Greenway path, runs past Affton on its way between the River Des Peres Greenway and Kirkwood. Grant's Farm and the Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site sit just west in neighboring Grantwood Village, and Laumeier Sculpture Park is a short drive southwest. Local favorites include Federhofer's Bakery.
