Overview

Homes, roads and parks in Lindenwood Park.

More than two-thirds of the housing is single-family. Styles run from late 1800s frame "urban farmhouses" to 1920s brick bungalows, 1950s brick homes and art deco apartment buildings, with duplexes and four-family flats along Watson, Jamieson and Lindenwood Court. Development picked up after World War I and was largely complete by the 1950s; Lindenwood Heights (1963) was the last major subdivision. Blocks are mostly brick or frame, which affects maintenance and pricing.

Hampton, Chippewa and Watson are the main commercial corridors, with smaller business nodes on Arsenal, Lansdowne and Ivanhoe. I-44 runs along the west edge, and Hampton connects north to Forest Park and I-64. The neighborhood's namesake, Lindenwood Park, is a 14-acre city park created in 1947. St. Louis Hills and Francis Park are just south.
